| As
an independent CPA in practice since 1999, I have
worked with several small businesses to develop strategic
plans, financial plans and establish their accounting
systems. I have worked with several small businesses to
develop successful financial turnaround plans.
Dale also owns a small
motel in Berlin Wisconsin. Since he took over the business,
he has transformed it from an independent motel into
a franchised Best Western. He was responsible for coordinating
all of the business planning, financial forecasting,
contract negotiation and construction of a renovated
facility. In the first year of operations, he achieved
a 20% increase in sales over the year before.
Dale currently offers
a monthly seminar for Right Management, Inc.,
a national outplacement firm located in Appleton
and Oshkosh, to help people evaluate if they
have what it takes to run a small business. He also
facilitates a group of small business owners (and soon
to be owners) in a network meeting every two weeks that
helps them learn various aspects of what it takes to
operate a small business.
As a senior executive
from Affinity Health System at Mercy Medical
Center in Oshkosh Wisconsin, Dale has over thirty
years of experience in financial management, business
development, information systems, planning and business
management. With a CPA foundation, he led the creation
and implementation of strategic plans and executed key
strategic initiatives. He worked to establish joint
ventures with other health systems, acquired physician
practices and initiated revenue enhancement programs
throughout the hospital system. He also developed strategic
financial plans to achieve the organization's goals
and objectives.
His major accomplishments
are as follows:
- Developed business
plans and negotiated employment contracts for the
acquisition of 22 independent physician practices.
- Negotiated managed
care contracts physician and provider PPO agreements.
- Led a strategic planning
initiative to develop a mission statement, vision
statement, long term objectives and strategies.
- Negotiated an affiliation
agreement with a 53-bed acute care hospital to be
part of the Affinity system.
- Developed a five-year
integrated information and communication plan to service
all owned and affiliated organizations.
- Provided leadership
and direction for various business and joint venture
initiatives which included:
- Developed a regional
cardiac product line featuring global fixed pricing
and direct marketing.
- Development of
a comprehensive physician needs assessment and
trategic plan.
- Negotiated a Joint
Venture ambulance service with other area competitors.
Vice President
- Business Development/CFO
Responsibilities for
these positions included managed care strategy development,
contract negotiation and evaluation, all strategic
planning activities, new and existing product
line development and enhancement. He was responsible
for all financial activities in addition to information
systems.
- Developed a financial
planning model that provided the necessary focus to
accomplwish long term capital objectives including
the construction of an ambulatory care/medical office
facility for $17 million and a hospital and medical
office replacement project for $65 million.
- Product lines developed
include open-heart surgery, medical office/ambulatory
services, childcare center and a joint venture ambulance
company.
- Led a complete re-design
of the system- wide cash management process.
